Jordan - Part 5

  1. This video showed so many of the beautiful locations in Jordan that it makes me want to go one day! I had known about the city of Petra from watching Indiana Jones, but all you saw in that was the outside of the temple. It was interesting to hear about the history as well as to see the other parts of the city. I also thought it was cool that they create coral reefs, not only with sunken ships, but with sunken tanks as well! The royal family in Jordan seems much different than the more well known royal family of Britain. It feels like you could talk to them without having so much decorum getting in the way of actually holding a conversation.

  2. Watching all these videos just makes me want to travel EVERYWHERE in the middle east. It was a very good point that King Abdulla II mother brought up, about not wanting her son to live in an unsafe place--I hope more travelers think in this way. I think the way in which King Abdulla II came into power was very interesting. The responsibility of monarchy resting on someone who does not want it, takes away the probability of the leader wanting it for the wrong reasons. The hospitality of the desert people was shocking--the continuation of ancient cultures is a revelation to Americans, because our ancient native heritage is stifled.

  3. Wow, I knew Jordan held alot of history but this film definitely showed even more. I love how the King seems to say humble and keep his want to just live an everyday life. I wish all of the western world would see this video and see the importance of Jordan. As the King said all the major religions for the most part have some form of a tie in Jordan. I would love to also see Petra before I die. Its story is so surprising. And to see the "lost city" world make you appreciate so much more. But most of all the King's welcoming spirit, all the current leaders and monarchs should take a page from his book.

  5. Jordan just moved to near the top of places I have to visit before I die. The king and the royal family seem like really cool people. The king is humble and knows how to relate to people. I like how religion is free and you cannot be discriminated against because of it. Social and religious freedom is abundant and the people are better for it. Petra is also a must-see and one of the main reasons I want to go to Jordan.

  6. I thoroughly enjoyed how the royalty of Jordan was portrayed in these videos. Through media and other various rumors, we often are led to believe that the royalty of Arabic speaking countries is nothing less than harsh and hateful to groups of their own people and outsiders. I was also amazed to see that even though Jordan consists mainly of desert, it is still abundant with beautiful landscapes and many styles of architecture. I had never considered Jordan to be a place of interest prior to watching these videos, but now I can say without a doubt that it is at the top of my places to visit.

  7. I Really enjoyed the clips. I have actually been to Jordan a couple of times and it is truely a wonderful place. The people there love the King and Queen. There are pictures of kind and queen every where and it is very clean country no trash on roads or anything.
