  1. It seems like Dubai is becoming a great center of commerce and wealth in the United Arab Emirates. It also seems to be a city on the verge of greatness in the form of greater quality of living or on becoming a failed venture. I think the idea and the motivation to make Dubai the best is admirable but I wish that the workers weren't as underpaid. I think the Government they have in theory is best but its too easy to ignore the other person's concerns like is apparently being done in civil cases of violating contracts. Overall though I do hope Dubai becomes what it is hoped to be not what the analysts think because it could be a rally point for the country financially and culturally.

  2. They seem to be more focused on tourist attractions than anything else in Dubai. It is a good idea when you think about how their oil reserves are running low and that that is where most of their profit comes from as a nation but will tourism be profitable enough? With everything occurring in the Middle East lately, it seems like most people are avoiding that area for tourism. Sheik obviously has a goal in mind it is something he wants to pursue. I believe Dubai is advancing and trying to change but I worry if it will be in vain? Honestly, I wouldn't mind staying at one of the Palm island houses sometime. They seem to be well made and would make a relaxing vacation.

  3. I think Dubai will be a force to reckon with in the future and even now. This is definitely now my dream vacation. It is definitely advancing in a short amount of time, with a very high risk. Sheik is a visionary leader, and is certainly ambitious to get it acheived. However it's gonna be interesting to see everyday life will be with my foreigners than anything living in the country. Will prostitution, or other legal and frowned upon things to the natives become an even bigger problem? From what I can see, they have a lot of challenges to face

  4. I think it's good that he wants the best for his people, but I think he is going about it the wrong way. Being a geologist seeing all of these building being build on the sands so close and in the sea makes me cringe. With all of those building keep popping up so fast makes me thing they are cutting corners in the building of them. If a natural disaster were to happen it would be a huge devastation; specially for the people that live on the palm island!
