The richest country in the world! No taxes! Why aren't other nations looking at Qatar's blueprints to try to fix their own economy? Its amazing that a small country that is surrounded by Iran and Saudi Arabia is the third largest produced in natural gas reserves. Just imagine if Saudi Arabia owned that land how wealthy they would be. A skyline filled with "bling" remarkable. I was skeptical when they announced the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Critics said it would be too hot, too much turmoil and uprising in the area, no one would want to go. However, for a family that has been in power for 150 years and is not bias to any country no wonder they got the bid to host what some call the best sports tournament the world has to offer. I think its cool that IVY league schools are a part of Qatar but I find it very amazing that Texas A&M is there. A&M is a great engineering school but just image a person from TX coming to Qatar, Culture shock. I remember watching Al Jazeera while I was in Jordan and I think its fantastic that they broadcast current events that are happening in the Middle East. We need to be transparent with one another and get rid of these smokescreen, put it under the rug tactics. Most importantly Qatar pays their citizens well with 120% for police officials and 60% for government officials something our government should adapt. Education diplomacy is just the start and could lead to better understanding and stability not only in the Middle East but around the world. Who would have thought that such a small country would play a powerful role in the region as well as the world? I would defiantly like to see this "oasis of tranquility."
I think I am going to have to go visit this country. It is amazing to me that such a small country has such large amenities. I think it is great that amidst such strife and turmoil there is a place of tranquility. I think what the sheikh is trying to achieve is really awesome. However, I hope that the gas/oil doesn't run out or the people become disgruntled in any way. My only concern is for the environment. So much industry can't be good for it. I can honestly say that before this video I didn't even know Qatar existed.

The Shiekh of Qatar is in control of the news network Al Jazeera which sends news all throughout the middle east & world. It's one of my favorite international news networks. I always look up international events on there before BBC, CNN & RT. Qatar's city of Doha is also one of my favorite cities in the middle east. Qatar however has many problems in the future to face. Especially if it's unable to continue to satisfy it's people with all these great benefits such as pay raises. Also i find it interesting that Qatar has a population of 1,000,000+ but the majority of the population that lives in Qatar are foreigners from Asian countries like India, China, Philippines, Pakistan etc. Over 90% Qatari workforce is made up of foreigners. Many of these foreigners are underpaid and brought to work but have few rights. These issues are going to have to be addressed in the future especially if they make up the majority of the population. Especially if Qatar is going to continue to rise to prosperity. Also, I particularly like this one gentleman comment from Al Jazeera on the 60 minutes interview. He said "what's wrong with transforming the Arab world from tyranny and despotism into Democracy"?

When the man started narrating it became easier to listen to! Qatar seems like a place i'd love to visit! My cousin lived in Qatar and I remember him saying that he loved it there, and I now know why! Everyone seems very happy in Qatar. It’s interesting how electricity, health care, and education is free as well as no taxes and how they can still maintain a wealthy, functioning county. Doha’s city would be amazing to see, I love studying architecture and to be in a place with so many different buildings and designs would be an amazing experience. It seems like the cities are getting bigger and bigger with all the new schools and businesses opening it, who knows what it will be in a couple of years! I think a city dedicated to education is an excellent idea, I love how it doesn’t cost money to get an education. I’ve always thought that it isn’t fair that you people have to pay to go to college. What happens to the young adults that want to learn and get an education but don’t have any money, it doesn’t make sense. I feel education is very important and no one should be denied it. Qatar has to be one of my favorite countries that we’ve seen so far, I’m definitely going to have to visit!

Someone is the video made a statement that said “My future’s not build on whether my country will have gas in 20 years, it’s build on me succeeding at this American university. I feel like them bridging this gap between cultures is a major step in the right direction to ending racism all together.

Why can't the United States be like Qatar. Full of money, a rich culture, educational diplomacy, well paying jobs, the list goes on. Qatar really is a true melting pot. It's a perfect blend of everything. It's kid friendly and full of everything imaginable. Qatar is a staple for other countries to follow. Out off all the Arab Countries that we have gone over, Qatar by far is my favorite. I think they just got themselves a new future citizen. Qatar seems to be a place where all hopes and dreams come true.
I don't think I ever knew much about Qatar before watching these videos. And I have to say, I am so impressed! It's so interesting how us Americans can be so ignorant to the world around us. Our country is such an amazing place to live! But because of that, we think it is the best and that no other country is as strong. After watching the videos, I am convinced that Qatar is giving us a run for our money. Such a great economy, beautiful landscape, and no taxes but still functioning so highly. High enough to be the richest country in the world! So many new facts learned!
I have always heard of Qatar, but never knew much of it before this video. Watching this really did give me a different outlook on thing. Least to say this country is beautiful! From all there designs and aspects of how they run their country. It's almost unbelievable how much we are ignorant to other countries, not only Qatar. But I would love to live there and if anything I believe we should adopt some ways from them. A beautiful country, none the least.
